Gross Screen

This is an example of a gross dissection (G) screen. The Structures field to the right of the image shows a list of all the structures which can be identified in the image. The name and outline of any of these structures can be highlighted by clicking directly on the structure in the image or on its name in the list. The corpus callosum is selected here. The diagram in the upper right corner shows the orientation of the image. Different views of the dissection can be obtained by clicking on the arrows in this field. Once a structure has been selected the X, G, D and I buttons (above the image field) enable you to view a different representation of that structure. The X button takes you to a cross-section through the selected structure, the D button takes you to a diagram and the I button takes you to an information screen describing the structure.
